Last night was date night, every Thursday we hit the town without the kiddo and have some one on one time. Char goes to my parents for her date night with them. While they indulge in pizza and wings, we try to find a good spot that has some yummy vegetarian food we can eat. Last night's choice was a win. We popped over to Redwood Resturant and Bar in Bethesda, MD.
Ryan and I both love appetizers! We call them "apps," courtesy of my mom who is always asking if want to grab some. Last night we started with the black eyed pea hummus with grilled pita bread and veggies. It was good! I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation. I could've eaten the dish alone as my meal.
For dinner, I enjoyed a veggie pasta, that was very tasty and some brussel sprouts. SO. GOOD. I love zucchini so the Trofie pasta was a lovely choice. And you can never go wrong with fried brussles! I couldn't finish it all so today I will be enjoying leftovers! That's a win.
Ryan has been on a heavy veggie burger kick lately. He had Redwood's white bean and wild mushroom burger. At the end of dinner, his plate was licked clean (how to have a happy plate 101) and I am assuming his food was good. I wanted to ask for a bite, but I refrained, lol.
Date night for us is always fun and relaxed. We rarely venture far from home because we really enjoy trying the local restaurants around town. If you are in the Maryland area, I would definitely recommend Redwood. They have an awesome brunch on Sundays, too.
