It's no secret that Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the shift in seasons. I love snuggling up in sweaters and the colors and the sound of leaves crunching under my boots. Words can't express how thrilled I am that sweater weather is in full swing (finally!). This morning it was a crisp 55 degrees, our bedroom window was cracked, and I loved every chill of it. I am 10 times more excited to get dressed every day just because the weather is different. Currently, my wardrobe consists of a lot of Hackwith Design House garments. And pretty much all of them are layer-able, cozy and going to be on heavy rotation all season. Nothing beats that!
Each year I try to set some intentions to keep with me as the sun sets earlier and the cold creeps in with ease. Fall is the perfect season for new mantras and intention setting. A lot of people think that this process is out of their reach, mainly because there's this assumption that intentions have to be deep and over the top. They don't. They can be easy and straightforward. Everyone's list looks and feels different. With that said, it doesn't have to be a task. It can be easy and freeing and fun!
Creative tip: Try making an intention vision board or a hand drawn intention chart. That can be a fun activity to do alone or with loved ones.
My intentions look like this for Fall/Winter 2017:
- go for more walks
- drink more herbal tea
-eat less sugar (yikes!)
-read 3 books all the way through (aka stay on task, thanks!)
- dedicate 15 mins a day to silence (unplug. you won't miss much.)
- write more with pen and paper
- cook more with my daughter (let her lead and make a mess, it's ok.)
-take a staycation by myself (you don't always need company.)
- explore my community
- rise earlier (and mean it. don't keep hitting snoze on the alarm.)
- move my body for at least 30 mins a day (dancing, walking, something!)
-mix up date night with my husband (no more just eating out, find something FUN to do.)
I am so looking forward to what the end of this year has to offer! What are some of your intentions as 2016 winds down? Leave them in the comments below.
