As I type this, I am sitting a cafe in Canton, Ma prepping for my yoga + meditation workshop tonight with yoga teacher extraordinaire, Yeradmi Gomes. 'Ruta's Juice Bar' is the name of the cafe on Washington Street. From the outside, it looks pretty average, deceiving almost. But upon walking in, you're greeted with a beautiful space. I was in awe from the moment I entered a few days ago. I've been here five days in a row if that says anything. Ruta's is quiet, well lit (I love natural light) and has a very homey feel to it. The four small dining tables are paired with matching chairs to my right while I am sitting at the beautiful long wood table that comfortably seats nine people. I'm the only one seated here at the moment. The cute little girl who was at the far end just left with her momma, papa + baby sibling. Above the middle of the table is a beautiful rod iron chandelier and directly in front of me is a fantastically large mirror that makes this quaint space look quite huge. The humming sound of the juicer is happening, and the smell of espresso and baked goods is filling the air. Today is a good day. I'm sipping on peppermint tea and their "first date" smoothie, both are great. The staff is lovely and very hospitable, I don't think I ever want to leave.
I've been at Ruta's working for a few hours, or so it seems. I have officially lost track of time. Tonight's workshop is going to be amazing. Yera and I decided that we needed to come up with a way to give the attendees a full experience. Not just yoga, not just meditation, not just writing, but a collective of it all. Creating a self-care calendar was on my to-do list and I got it done!Yay for alone time and quiet spaces! It's super simple, and I figured it might be helpful to make it downloadable for everyone. Feel free to share the calendar after downloading it here.
Let me know how it helps you during the week! I will try to make this customizeable. :)
Enjoy the day, everyone! xx
