smoothies to get your week started

true life: i am a smoothie addict. the reasoning behind it is simple; i do not like eating big meals when right when i wake up. we all know that not eating breakfast in the morning isn't good...

 

why? because breakfast kicks starts our day (get it? break fast...) by providing us with the energy we need to function. when we rise in the AM we are literally breaking our overnight fast. our body needs yummy healthy food to get going. ideally we should be eating a nutritious meal every morning because our bodies will pretty much crash and burn without it.... and we don't want that. 

 

with that being said, i started making smoothies packed with yummy fruits and veggies to help hold me over until i was ready for my first meal of the day. 

 

to make my smoothies i use a nutribullet blender which i love. i think we got ours from sams club or costco but i am pretty sure that target sells them too. the recipes below are simple, vegan friendly and easy to whip up! you can use fresh or frozen fruit/veggies + add or omit any ingredients you like or don't like.
